In this article published on the TIMESONLINE the Optimum Population Trust (OPT), suggests the UK population must be cut to 30m if the country wants to feed itself sustainably. We all know that the growing population of the world is putting a huge strain on available recourses. Over the past view years we have seen a lot of organisations and people calling for the reduction of the population on earth.

“ Many experts believe that, since Europeans and Americans have such a lopsided impact on the environment, the world would benefit more from reducing their populations than by making cuts in developing countries.”

The OPT suggest to cut the pupulation in the UK (61mil) by half: “This is part of the thinking behind the OPT’s call for Britain to cut population to 30m — roughly what it was in late Victorian times” 

This kind of thinking and the subtle noises made when this discussions comes to mind is whether this kind of thinking is the early indications of what to expect in terms of a devastating “World War III” The only way to cut down the world population and it’s affect on the environment is to find a reason to get involved in a war, and then to make sure that maximum damage is inflicted on the population.
